Life List

Here are some things I aspire to achieve in my lifetime. Most of them are travel related (Heh! Did you expect anything less than that from me?). It is a growing list and I will continue to add to it as I discover more of this wonderful world of ours.

Ambitious? Very.

Impossible? Nope.

– Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
– Gorilla trek in Uganda (Like this!)
– Drive the Garden Route from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth, South Africa
– See penguins on the coast of South Africa
– Experience authentic African Safari (Kruger National Park, SA or Serengenti National Park, Tanzania or BOTH!)
– Visit the Okavango Delta, Botswana
– Pay a visit to a friend in Nigeria

– Visit the Orang-Utan Sanctuary in Borneo, Malaysia
– See sunrise from Angkor-Wat, Cambodia
– Trek through Sapa, Vietnam
– Get tailor-made dresses in Hue, Vietnam
– Visit Taj Mahal in Agra, India
– Hike the Great Wall of China
– Visit the elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand
– Attend the Yie Peng Latern Ceremony in Mae Jo, Thailand (Tangled!! or this)

– Visit the Sydney Opera House
– See the Uluru Rock at sunset
– Road trip through the Great Australian Outback
– Take pictures with koalas and kangaroos
– New Zealand.

– Walk the Camino de Santiago
Climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower (May 2009)
Participate in mass inside the Vatican, Rome (May 2009)
– Road trip through Iceland
Eat Pasteis de Belem, Lisbon (Aug. 2011)
– Visit the Stone Henge, England
Ride on the iconic double decker red bus in London (December 2012)
Cycle through the streets of Amsterdam (January 2013)

North America
– Witness the beauty of Lake Louise, Banff, AB.
– Tour the Maritime Provinces of Canada – Slated for Summer 2013
– Whale-watch in Newfoundland, Canada – Slated for Summer 2013
Skate on Rideau Canal, Ottawa (Winterlude Feb. 2013)
– Road trip through Highway 1 (San Francisco/San Diego to Seattle)
– Eat a slice of deep-dish pizza from Chicago
See sunset from Grand Canyon (Mohave Point, May 2012)
Run through Central Park, New York City (Around the Reservoir, August 2012)
– Have a cup of coffee from THE original Starbucks, Seattle
Visit the Holy Cross Chapel, Sedona, AZ (May 2012)

South America
– See sunrise from Macchu Pichu, Peru
– Visit Iguazu Falls from both (Brazil’s and Argentina’s) sides
– Attend the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (like in the movie Rio!!)
– Trek through the Amazon Forest
– Visit the sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica

Middle East
– PYRAMIDS & SPHINX in Egypt – ’nuff said
– Cruise the Nile River on a felucca
– Visit Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey
– Do the routes of St. Paul
– Visit Holy Land on a Catholic pilgrimage
– Visit the Treasury at Petra, Jordan
– Spend the night camping on Sahara desert
– Ride a camel (!)
– Go on a hot air balloon ride over Capadoccia, Turkey

Personal Growth/Random tid-bits:
Run a 10K Race (Sporting Life 10K May 2012)
– Run a half-marathon
– Run a marathon
Go on a hot air balloon ride (May 2012, Phoenix, AZ)
Go skydiving (July 15, 2012, Baldwin, ON)
– Go on a run in every new place (as inspired by Chris Guilleabeau) – ongoing
Participate in World Youth Day (JMJ Madrid Aug 2011)
Start and maintain a travel blog
– Participate in the celebration of the Eucharist in every new place – ongoing
– Take a year off to go around the world (RTW!!)
– Teach English overseas

  1. Anything in London, England, Amsterdam (no Scotland? Ireland?) are to be completed December 2012/January 2013 (yeah!)
    Anything in Brazil will be completed in July 2013 😉
    I believe this takes care of most of Europe and South America, travel partner 😀

    P.S. Sorry to disappoint but I heard it’s not possible to actually walk around the Great Wall since some sections are closed off…

      Hahahhahaha.. ya, if I have my way, I’d totally move to Europe and explore the continent inside-out!

      • ahhahah yeah i have been using it for long, but im not exactly a writer so i dont write as much. even so, quite a lot of stuff i’ve written get deleted just cos i dont like em after a while.. ahhahaha..

        i totally wanna go to spaaiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnn.. tho yea, those danish, swedish, norwegian, all those places with the pastry-association as i call it.. lol.. but also i wanna go to scotland to see my border collies in action! (border collie, the most intelligent breed originates from the border of scotland and england.. so the finest border collies should be right there)

        travel oh travel, why art thou so expensive.. if only someone is willing to sponsor me to go around the world checking out on the native dog breeds, as well as the wildlife..

  4. This is amazing, Pauline! So many things to accomplish and so many that you have already done! I’m in awe. Keep it up! I’m excited to hear all of your travel stories as you continue on this trek around the globe. 🙂
